For the first time, the world's leading industrialised nations Group of Seven (G7), including the US, Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Canada and Japan, as well as the presidents of the European Council and Commission met in Brussels on June 4-5.
This small group of rich countries is often criticized by NGOs for their lack of transparency. According to Oxfam, "G7 leaders must be more transparent about financial dealings and stop tax dodging."
They will not "change the world", said the Belgian Socialist Veronique de Keyser, member of the European Parliament.
